What is 14k Gold-Filled?
14KGold-filled is the next best option to 14k solid gold. It is a less expensive option and it is hypoallergenic. Gold-filled is actual 14k gold heat-bonded with an inner core of brass as opposed to gold plated which is a thin layer of gold liquid solution electroplated over a base metal. Brass is used because it is hypoallergenic. All our clasps and ear hooks will be marked 14/20 GF.
14kGold-filled has excellent oxidation resistance, allowing it to be worn for a long time without tarnishing or darkening.
