Our Story

AFRA Jewelry Studio is an independent fine jewelry brand founded in 2011 by designer Yuxi Zhang. Each piece, especially those featuring Australian opals, is inspired by the natural characteristics and organic forms of gemstones, combined with Yuxi’s refined aesthetic vision and mastery of color. Every creation is crafted with a careful balance of quality, artistry, and sustainability.

The name AFRA comes from the Hebrew word for “dust.” We believe that God is the ultimate designer — all living beings and gemstones emerge from dust and ultimately return to dust. Every gemstone is a gift of nature, carrying its own unique journey through the hands and life of its wearer.

AFRA Jewelry Studio works with 18K and 14K gold, sterling silver, and a wide range of natural gemstones, including opals, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, crystals, and pearls, bringing the raw beauty of nature into contemporary jewelry design.
