Our Story

AFRA Jewelry Studio is an independent jewelry brand founded in 2011 by designer Yuxi Zhang. Each piece, especially those featuring Australian opals, is inspired by the natural characteristics and forms of the gemstones, combined with Yuxi’s unique aesthetic and mastery of color. Every creation is crafted with attention to both quality and sustainability.

The name AFRA comes from the Hebrew word for “dust.” We believe that God is the ultimate designer — all living beings and gemstones emerge from dust and ultimately return to dust. Every gemstone is a gift of nature, given a unique journey of life by the wearer.
